Our little bay has seen a lot of changes over the 5 generations and nearly 100 years we have been calling Beulah home, but one thing has remained constant: the beautiful sunsets over the pristine wetlands across the channel. Recognizing that those wetlands didn’t protect themselves over the years motivated our family to contribute to Legacy’s mission. The beavers, cranes, herons, eagles, coyotes, turtles, many other birds and countless species of dragonflies that we’ve seen live there enjoyed the active safeguarding of our forebears and the DNR.
While we’ve been blessed with morning paddles, tie-ups drifting with strangers who became friends, memories of 4th of July fireworks reflecting off the lake, sailing, boating, ice fishing, cross-country skiing, and generations of kids learning to swim and building sand castles, our favorite activity is hosting friends and family so that we can all experience the lake together.
We recently hosted a celebration of life for a family member who, despite living the majority of her life in Florida, wanted her family to all gather at Lake Beulah “because it’s where she had the happiest memories.”
We are supporting Legacy so that the magnificent lake that the Gaspardos found in the 1930s, and have enjoyed since then with friends and family as Vericks, Vidunases, Christensens, Ayres, and Clappers, will continue to be a place for future generations to make their happiest memories.
